MGM Resorts and BetMGM were among the very first operators to encourage responsible gambling in NFL stadiums.

“This is an extraordinary moment as we collaborate with our team partners to raise awareness regarding responsible gaming,” BetMGM’s chief compliance officer Rhea Loney said. “Throughout the season, GameSense will be critical in reminding football fans who bet to bet responsibly.”

Since 2017, GameSense has been Delivering Safe Gambling Information

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation initially developed and licensed GameSense to MGM Resorts in 2017. The program provides gamers with ongoing access to knowledge, resources, and tools that help them make informed decisions and develop healthy gaming habits.

BetMGM will incorporate GameSense into its online platforms in 2022. It only adds to the program’s success. GameSense teaches gamers how to set appropriate gaming limits while refuting popular gambling myths.

BetMGM announced in April of this year that it provided responsible gambling information for more than 100,000 consumers each month via website visits and email contacts.

“Since integrating GameSense into BetMGM, we’ve noticed significant and positive results,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. “With the continuing growth of sports betting and iGaming, our dedication to responsible gaming practices has never been more important.”

Additionally, GameSense messages and responsible gaming guidelines are available on:

  • 35,000 television screens in MGM Resorts hotel rooms nationwide and
  • 22,000 slot machines (8,500 have QR codes that provide access to additional instructional content)
  • All MGM family employees get extensive and research-based responsible gaming training throughout the year.

And the program is still growing. Over the last year, 62,000 employees completed the training, with 300 receiving the highest level of certification, GameSense Advisor.

MGM is Bringing GameSense to NFL Fans at Ford Field and Other Venues

The GameSense promos will be present at Ford Field for the Lions’ home opener facing the Seattle Seahawks on September 17 and will continue throughout the season.

GameSense will also be marketed at the NFL venues listed below:

  • Acrisure Stadium: Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Allegiant Stadium: Las Vegas Raiders
  • Empower Field at Mile High: Denver Broncos
  • GHEA Field at Arrowhead Stadium: Kansas City Chiefs
  • M&T Bank Stadium: Baltimore Ravens
  • MetLife Stadium: New York Jets
  • Nissan Stadium: Tennessee Titans
  • State Farm Stadium: Arizona Cardinals

All of this is part of BetMGM and MGM Resorts’ collaboration with the American Gaming Association to raise responsible gambling awareness. The month of September commemorates Responsible Gaming Education Month.

Furthermore, the MGM family will provide more than $1 million per year to a range of problem gambling initiatives along with responsible gambling campaigns. It encompasses research, advocacy, prevention, promotion, and administrative assistance.

“The gaming industry landscape has changed dramatically in recent years with the widespread legalization of online gambling and sports betting,” said Stephen Martino, senior vice president and chief compliance officer at MGM Resorts. “It is critical for operators and stakeholders to work together to ensure that responsible gaming remains a top priority.” These initiatives are critical in providing guests, customers, employees, and businesses with the tools and information they need to have a safe and pleasurable experience.”
