Golden Nugget Directs Clients to DraftKings Sportsbook
In May 2022, DraftKings finalized their acquisition of Golden Nugget. The two had previously collaborated in Michigan to offer special incentives. Still, Golden Nugget is now handing over the sports betting reins to DraftKings.
Following an upgrade to the Golden Nugget casino app, the following information was displayed while attempting to locate the sportsbook.
“The Golden Nugget Online Sportsbook in West Virginia and Michigan will no longer be available following the update to the new Golden Nugget Online Gaming experience. However, West Virginia and Michigan gamers may enjoy the Sportsbook experience through our partner, DraftKings Sportsbook. Players may download the DraftKings Sportsbook app or visit the DraftKings Sportsbook website. To place a wager on the DraftKings Sportsbook in West Virginia and Michigan, you must first register an account.”
With Fox Bet Sportsbook closing last summer, Michigan has only 13 online sportsbook alternatives.

Golden Nugget Resembles DraftKings
The recent app update from Golden Nugget shows that the company has partnered with DraftKings. Golden Nugget promoted the change as a method to improve the speed and efficiency of their product among Michigan’s many online casinos.
You’ll recognize the layout’s aesthetics, which now appear almost identical to DraftKings Casino Michigan. Golden Nugget’s presentation, selection options, promotional layouts, and even typefaces now mimic those of DraftKings.
Previously restricted to DraftKings games, “DraftKings Rocket” is now accessible at Golden Nugget under “Golden Nugget Rocket.” Some titles don’t even remove the DraftKings label. The new Golden Nugget collection includes various table games with the DraftKings label. It covers both “DraftKings Basketball Roulette” and “DraftKings Football Blackjack.”
Account Information Rolls Across to the New Golden Nugget
Suppose you had an account with the previous version of Golden Nugget Casino or Golden Nugget Sportsbook. In that case, your account data has been transferred to the new app.
Download the updated application to access your cash and play at the new Golden Nugget Casino. Your information will be transferred using your old account details when you log in.
The data you provide will not be transmitted to DraftKings Sportsbook. If you want to place sports wagers with your Golden Nugget money, you must first withdraw and deposit it into DraftKings (or another Michigan online sportsbook provider).
The recently released Golden Nugget Casino app can be downloaded for iOS and Android.
Golden Nugget Remains in The Top-Five Online Casino
Golden Nugget Casino continues to be one of Michigan’s strongest online casinos. In 2023, Golden Nugget generated $81.7 million in online casino revenue. It was a 12.5% increase over the $72.6 million raised in 2022.
Golden Nugget finished sixth overall among Michigan’s online casino operators for the year. They are still looking up to their owner, DraftKings, who finished third in revenue in 2023 with $364.4 million, a 46.7% increase over 2022 ($248.4 million).
Golden Nugget has consistently ranked bottom in the state for online sportsbooks.
Golden Nugget has earned just $36.3 million in internet handling during its career, ranking third-worst (13th) in state history. DraftKings is second in lifetime online handle at $3.36 billion.
