Game 2 Preview: 76ers vs Hawks
The Sixers, arguably the league’s best home teams, are expected to get back to winning ways tonight at home. Atlanta jumped out to a big lead that grew to 26 points on Sunday in Philadelphia. Philly rallied at the end to reduce the gap to three points but fell short.
The Sixers should concentrate on two things heading into Game 2: Joel Embiid’s health and containing Trae Young. Before his injury, Embiid finished the game with 39 points. Young completed with 35 points. If the Sixers can comprise Young and limit their turnovers, they have a chance to win Game 2 and reclaim the home-court advantage.
In the Philly vs Hawks, the Philadelphia 76ers are currently the favorite (-275 ML) to win tonight, according to the BetMGM sportsbook.
The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of Eastern Conference Semifinals tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST on TNT at the Wells Fargo Center. Atlanta currently holds a 1-0 lead in the series.
As previously stated, the possible loss of Joel Embiid has had a significant impact on the Hawks vs. 76ers odds. So much so that, notwithstanding the fact that the Hawks are the weakest team still drawing breath in the East and the 76ers are still the No. 1 seed, the Hawks have only a 65% likelihood of winning the series.
Meanwhile, the Nets, who face a much stronger opponent in the Milwaukee Bucks, are -200 to win the series before even playing a single game.
The Hawks vs 76ers odds will change in the coming weeks, and not having Embiid isn’t the end of the globe for a team with complexity like the 76ers playing an exceptionally talented Hawks team. However, if the Hawks win early, the Hawks vs. 76ers odds may begin to shift in Atlanta’s favor.
